Dr. Marketa Limova MD is a Dermatologist\/Dermatologic Surgeon in private practice in Fresno,
California and Clinical Professor of Dermatology, University of California San Francisco.<\/p>

Dr. Limova received her bachelor\u2019s degree cum laude at University of California, San Diego in
Biochemistry and Cell Biology. She completed medical school training at the University of
California San Francisco, and after completing her internship at Stanford University, returned to
UCSF for her Dermatology residency, where she served as a chief resident during her senior
year. After completing her training, she joined the Department as clinical faculty, and is
currently a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at UCSF Department of Dermatology.<\/p>

A keen area of interest for Dr. Limova has been chronic wound care and the use of advanced
biologic dressings and artificial skin substitutes. For many years she was the Director of the
Wound and Ulcer clinic in the Department of Dermatology, a program she pioneered during her
residency and has continued to attend on a regular basis until recent years. This clinic also
provided hand on experience for medical students and residents in multiple specialties. She is
internationally recognized expert in wound care, lecturing extensively around the world as well
as being an investigator on a number of clinical trials evaluating new therapies for a variety of
dermatologic conditions.<\/p>

In addition to her academic affiliation in San Francisco, Dr. Limova has a busy private practice in
Fresno, CA, focusing on complex dermatology conditions and dermatologic surgical procedures.
She is also locally involved in teaching students and residents basic dermatologic skills and is on
faculty with Saint Agnes Medical Center, Fresno, for their residency program as well as
Dominican University of California and University of the Pacific Physician Assistant student
program.<\/p>

Dr. Limova is a member of a number of medical organizations, including the American Medical
Association, Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, Diplomate of American Academy
of Wound Management\/Certified Wound Specialist Physician, member of the Association for
Advancement of Wound Care, and an Founding Diplomate of the American Board of Wound

Dr. Lucian Vlad, originally from Romania, relocated to the United States in 2005. He earned his medical degree in 2001 from the University of “Lucian Blaga” in Sibiu, Romania, and completed his residency in 2008 at the Grand Rapids Medical Education & Research Center. Since then, he has been board-certified in Family Medicine.<\/p>

From 2008 to 2012, Dr. Vlad practiced outpatient family medicine and served as a hospitalist. His career in wound care began unexpectedly in 2009 as part-time work, but it quickly grew into a full-time passion. In 2012, he joined the faculty of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department at Wake Forest School of Medicine, where his academic career truly took off.<\/p>

Dr. Vlad specializes in the treatment of chronic wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, and pressure injuries, which can be highly complex. His extensive experience in a tertiary wound care clinic has fueled his passion for education and teaching. In 2016, he was one of the founders of a one-year wound care fellowship, and in 2024, he became the Director of the program.<\/p>

Dr. Vlad is also deeply involved in research, with a focus on innovative treatments such as low-intensity laser therapy, venous leg dressings, gene expression in diabetic foot ulcers, wound biofilms, and hyperthermia treatments. His additional research interests include scaffolding tissue grafts and clinical nutrition for patients with chronic wounds. His recent work with real-world data and evidence led to his involvement with the Wound Care Collaborative Community and inspired him to pursue a Master\u2019s degree in Health Informatics, which he began in 2023.<\/p>

Roselle Crombie, MD\/MPH, FACS, FABA is a surgeon specializing in general surgery, burn surgery and surgical critical care at several of the Yale New Haven Health Systems flagship hospitals in Southern Connecticut. Her particular passion is a mix of burns, burn\/ trauma reconstruction, wounds and general surgery. Her days include her busy practice constantly pushing for change and awareness in how we can improve care delivery locally and nationally. Education of the next generation of physicians and surgeons has remained an imperative part of her career as she is highly involved as faculty in the Department of Surgery, Yale School of Medicine over the course of her career and mentors the younger pre-health generation. Kourosh A.P. Moshiri, MD, MHA, FACP, AGSF, CMD, HMDC, FACCWS, is the Internal Medicine Section Chief at Eisenhower Medical Center and the Associate Program Director of the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program. He is also a Core Faculty member in the Internal Medicine Residency Program and serves as Medical Director of Desert Mountain Care Center. Dr. Moshiri is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine, having completed his residency and geriatric fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center\/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He holds an Executive Master of Healthcare Administration from USC, graduating summa cum laude. His credentials include Fellow of the American Geriatric Society, Fellow of the Americal College of Physicians, Certified Medical Director, Hospice Medical Director Certified (HMDC), Fellow of the American College of Clinical Wound Specialists, and Diplomate of the American Board of Wound Medicine and Surgery. A prolific author with over 50 scientific papers, he advocates for the Quadruple Aim in healthcare, emphasizing quality of care and patient satisfaction, especially for the aging population. Dr. Moshiri employs a holistic, patient-centered approach using the “5M Framework” to enhance the dignity and quality of life for geriatric patients, while actively implementing innovative academic geriatric settings, including wound care programs, skilled nursing facilities, dementia clinics, geriatric outpatient clinics, and inpatient geriatric consults. Rummana Aslam, MD, FAAPMR<\/h3>\n

Rummana Aslam, MD, is the current Chief of Physical Medical and Rehabilitation at Yale School of Medicine. As a physiatrist (a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation), she became interested in her field based on her concern for what happens to patients\u2019 function and quality of life after a serious injury\u00a0or disease.<\/p>\n

Her goal, Dr. Aslam explains, is to help patients get back to the life they had before experiencing a severe illness, surgery, or trauma.<\/p>\n

Dr. Aslam is a leading wound care physician and scientist recognized nationally and internationally.\u00a0 As medical director of Yale New Haven Health\u2019s Lawrence + Memorial Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Dr. Aslam also helps patients with chronic wounds no matter what the underlying reason is and of all ages. These patients include diabetics who are at risk of amputation and people with leg ulcers, which can be caused by years of smoking or poor circulation.<\/p>\n

She has initiated and developed a new 12 month non ACGME accredited Wound Medicine Fellowship Program at Yale School of Medicine in 2021. She is the Wound Medicine Fellow Director<\/p>\n

Within PM&R, she is board-certified in brain injury medicine, which means she helps patients with TBIs, including concussions. \u201cOften, these patients have multiple traumas, are treated in the hospital, and return home. However, they continue to suffer from the long-term effects of the brain injury, which affects their normal, day-to-day functioning,\u201d Dr. Aslam explains. \u201cFor example, you can have someone who looks and talks fine, but when it comes to higher-level functioning, her brain is still healing and isn\u2019t at that pre-injury level. She needs a physiatrist who specializes in brain medicine to guide her long-term recovery and get her to where she was in her personal and professional life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to help patients improve function. They may have to live with a chronic wound for a long time. Instead of ending up disabled and staying home, my job is to keep them working and healthy and fit while they are healing,\u201d she says. \u201cOverall, with all of my patients, my goal is to improve their function so they can feel and be well, and enjoy healthy, productive lives.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

John Lantis, MD, FACS<\/h3>

Dr. John Lantis attended Albany Medical College where he graduated Cum Laude, and was elected Alpha. He completed his general surgery residency at Tufts\/New England Medical Center and his vascular surgery fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Since 2004 he has been the Director of Clinical Research, Department of Surgery at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital, where in 2007 he was named Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery.<\/p>

Dr. Lantis currently serves both roles in the Department of Surgery, where he is a Senior Attending Surgeon as well as being an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at Columbia University. In addition to an extensive lower limb practice, his clinical practice includes: endovascular and open limb salvage, with a multi-disciplinary approach to wound closure and limb preservation, carotid artery surgery, endovascular abdominal and thoracic aneurysm repair. He has a strong interest in the pathophysiology of lower limb ulceration chronic venous disease and its minimally invasive treatment. He is published in such journals as: Journal of Vascular Surgery, WOUNDS, Diabetes Care and Annals of Vascular Surgery. He currently sits on the editorial board of WOUNDS, and is a reviewer for Annals of Vascular Surgery. He has been the principal investigator on more than 30 multi-center and single center chronic wound trials which have se explored the roles of treatments for wound closure; including negative pressure wound therapy, growth factors, and skin substitutes. Dr. Jill Eysaman-Walker completed her Family Medicine residency at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, NY.\u00a0 She went on to be the inaugural fellow in the Catholic Health Wound Care Fellowship<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0 .\u00a0 This fellowship is the first of its kind in the state of New York.\u00a0 Dr. Eysaman-Walker currently serves as medical director at the Advanced Wound Healing Centers and the Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine in Buffalo, NY.\u00a0 She is the program director of the Catholic Health Wound Care Fellowship Program.\u00a0 In addition to her ABWMS certification, she is certified as a Wound Specialist (CWS-P) and holds a board certification in Family Medicine through the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practitioners (AOBFP).\u00a0 She is a clinical adjunctive faculty for the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine as well as the State University of New York at Buffalo.\u00a0 She is an instructor and preceptor for medical, nursing and physical therapy students as well as residents and fellows in the family medicine, podiatry and vascular surgery programs in the Catholic Health System.\u00a0 She has written a series of articles detailing her experiences as a Wound Care Fellow that were published in Today\u2019s Wound Clinic<\/em>.\u00a0 Dr. Eysaman-Walker lives in Tonawanda, NY with her husband, two small children and beloved Rottweiler, Moose.\u00a0 She enjoys skiing, reading and spending time with her family.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Dr. Sharon Henry is the Anne Scalea Professor of Trauma Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, is a trauma surgeon at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.<\/p>

Dr. Henry came to the University of Maryland School Of Medicine and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in1997, where she is currently an attending trauma surgeon\/intensivist and director of the Center’s Division of Wound Healing and Metabolism.<\/p>

Dr. Henry received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1981 at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She then returned to Maryland to attend medical school and received her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1985. Her residency training was at State University of New York’s Health Science Center at Brooklyn where she began her academic career after completing a critical care fellowship at the University of Minnesota.<\/p>

After joining the faculty at the R A Cowley shock trauma center, in addition to her duties and interests in injury care she was named the chief of the division of wound healing and metabolism service.\u00a0 Dr. Henry has been active in the Maryland Committee on Trauma serving as chair from 2004-2010.\u00a0 She served on the ACS central COT and was chair of the ATLS subcommittee 2013-2018.\u00a0 She is currently the ATLS global program chair.\u00a0 She was on the board of managers of the AAST from 2017-2021 and was a part of the senior visiting surgeon program in 2009 to Landstuhl Germany.\u00a0 She is also a member of the federal Trauma critical care team and serves on the Disaster committee of the AAST.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Caitlyn Hollingshead, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences with a professional interest in the intersection of wound care and infectious diseases. Dr. Hollingshead began her education at Miami University, obtaining a degree in microbiology in 2010. She received her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in 2016. Her postgraduate training was completed at The University of Toledo, where she completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in infectious diseases. During her final year, she served as the chief fellow.<\/p>

She is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases and received accreditations from the American College of Medical Quality and the American Academy of HIV Medicine. She sees infectious disease wound patients in the Wound Care Program at Jobst Vascular Institute\/ProMedica Health System, Toledo, OH, in person and via telemedicine. Her roles at The University of Toledo include Director of Telemedicine for the Infectious Diseases division and co-director of the Department of Medicine quality committee. Joseph A. Caprini, M.D., is Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Pritzker School of Medicine, The University of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois, and also holds the Louis W. Biegler Chair of Surgery at NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston, Illinois.<\/p>

Dr. Caprini earned his B.S. in biology at Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania, his M.S. at Northwestern University, and his M.D. at Hahnemann Medical College (now known as Drexel University College of Medicine) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his internship in medicine at Evanston Hospital and his residency in general surgery at Northwestern University Medical School. He fulfilled a fellowship in surgical hematology at Northwestern University Medical School (now known as the Feinberg School of Medicine) and was Professor of Surgery there from 1996 to July 1, 2009. He also held professorship at the Robert McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, from 1999 until 2009.<\/p>

Dr. Caprini has authored or co-authored more than 365 articles, book chapters and abstracts and has presented more than 1485 lectures and 90 exhibits on the study and treatment of venous thromboembolism, venous insufficiency, and related topics. His articles are published in Journal of Thrombosis and Thrombolysis, Archives of Internal Medicine, Journal of Arthroplasty, and Journal of Vascular Surgery to name a few. He serves on the editorial board or as a reviewer for Journal of Vascular Surgery, European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Phlebology, and Journal of Blood Coagulation and Fibrinolysis, among others. He is a member of many societies, including the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis and the American Venous Forum, where he served as President 2009-2010. He is also a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, where he is a Distinguished Fellow. He is a Founding Member and the first Honorary Fellow of the European Venous Forum, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Hematology, and a founding member and Trustee of the International Surgical Thrombosis Forum.
